Why do women go back to abusive men, over and over and over?

Sometimes it's not as simple as that. It can creep up so gradually, that the women don't see it as abuse. The abuser gets completely inside the mind of the person they're abusing and "brainwashes" them, convincing them it's normal, and if they were to walk away, they would never find anyone else who would "love" them as much as they did. It can be very, very difficult for someone who is being abused and it's usually a lot more complicated than everyone on the outside thinks.
