If you are married I think you have to file married ( or married filing separate) - head of household is mostly for unmarried people who may be supporting other family members like their parents that they need to claim!! Filing married you still get to claim each other and you may want to itemize medical expenses. Check with a tax preparer or online at IRS to be sure!!
